For those students and faculty that want more information on how individually calibrate robots, there is a great post on the Swarmathon Q&A Forum that contains instructional videos, discussion, and guidance. You can visit this forum post at http://nasaswarmathon.com/qa-forum/?p=post%2Fcalibrating-the-imu-tutorial-8058934 This should mitigate (but not eliminate) difficulties teams may have been having with localization and returning to the nest. The competition robots at KSC will be individually calibrated, so their ability to localize should be similar to yours. However, teams should *not* overwrite the KSC robot calibration with their own calibration code since the calibration is unique to each robot.
The videos below provide an overview of how the Swarmie software works. For your convenience, we have included 2 different versions – a short overview and comprehensive overview.
